Self storage units

We often talk of what the most common things that people put in storage. It is most commonly holiday decorations, tools, and household overflow items. Few people ask themselves what not to store in a storage unit. We will dive in to this in this post.

  1. Explosives- Please do not store anything that goes boom. If by the off chance that there is a spark, these will explode and cause a fire damaging both your unit and adjacent units if not the entire facility.

  2. Ammunition- The gunpowder in these can pose a huge fire risk.

  3. Firearms- this is safety risk that is addressed in the lease.

  4. Propane Tank- These are a huge fire risk. There have been many reports of a fire with propane tanks at storage facilities. The fire department is often unable to access the property when this is the case

  5. Live Animals- This should go without saying, but the units are not climate controlled. The animal will be at risk for death from the extreme temperatures in the storage unit.

  6. Illegal drugs- Crime is not welcomed at A&G.

  7. People- storage units are for self storage purposes only. This is not habitable property. There are many resources available, however storage is zoned for storage only.
