Here are our most commonly asked self storage FAQ (or frequently asked questions)

1. What is self storage?

Self Storage is air space suitable for self storage. This can mean there are permanent or temporary structures. Shipping containers are occasionally used, as are pods. A&G Storage does not offer these. Many people use storage for their household items or business uses them for their equipment or inventory.

2. What can I store in a self storage unit?

Our going joke is you may store anything as long as it is not alive, illegal, food anything that goes boom, can go boom (fireworks, ammunition, firearms or propane tanks). We also disallow the storage of vehicles inside the units.

We also do not allow things that will bring a 3 letter governmental agency to our door. Think DEA, FBI... etc.

Most storage units contain holiday decor, mattresses and other household items.

3. How do I choose the right unit size?

First, decide what you are storing. A 5X10 is the size of a large closet, a 10X10 is the size of a larger garage- this will hold a 1 bedroom apartment, a 10X15 will hold a few bedrooms and a 10X20 will store a 3 bedroom home.

4. How secure are self storage facilities?

We can make no guarantees that crime will never happen, however there are a few things to look for. Is the facility gated? Do they have security cameras or unit alarms? How is the lighting at night? A facility with landscaping or other ignored repairs is a magnet for crime.

5. Do I need insurance for my stored items?

Many facilities require some form of additional insurance. The reason for this is should something happen (we hope it never does), our insurance covers the walls and the roof. Your items are not covered. Many times your homeowner's policy or homeowner's have a rider you can provide.

6. How long can I rent a unit?

Georgia statues are written for a month to month basis. This rental is automatically renewed unless either the facility or the tenant decide to not renew.
